From time to time, the Town of Faro requires specialized skills which our union employees do not possess, like a certified electrician, or an artist to teach a painting workshop. In addition, to these skills the Town on occasion requires equipment that is not in our inventory to complete projects.
In the past, the Town of Faro has often hired outside contractors to fill these gaps. The process of finding the right contractor can be timely and, in an emergency, the Public Works Departments doesn’t have the time to call all contractors with business licenses to find out what equipment they have. For these reasons the Town of Faro is creating an Approved Vendors List.
To be considered for the Town of Faro’s Approved Vendors List, please fill out a Local Vendor/Contractor Expression of Interest application. This form should be filled out by anyone looking to do work for the Town of Faro in 2024, including:
- Artists, Musicians, and Crafters;
- Computer Skills (advanced MS Office);
- Equipment Operators;
- Instructors;
- Licensed Trades people; or
- Other specialized skill.
In addition to the Approved Vendors List, the Town would also like to create an inventory of equipment located in the community. This inventory list is vital in emergency situations. This will save our staff time locating equipment and machinery we may not have. If you have equipment for rental in the community, please complete the Contractor/Vendor Inventory & Price List. Additionally, if you have a specialized trade licence, please include your licence and hourly rate on the Contractor/Vendor Inventory & Price List.
Please Note: Filling out these forms is not a guarantee of work with the Town of Faro; however, we will review all completed forms before seeking outside contractors and vendors. When hiring third party contractors the Town will review this list and in accordance with our purchasing policy award the contract to the lowest price whenever prudent to do so.
