The Town of Faro ‘’Business Licensing Bylaw’’ provides for the licensing of businesses in our community. An active business licence is required to operate any business within or partly within Town of Faro limits. If you are operating a business without a business licence, you as the owner could face penalties and fines.
Apply for a Business License
A completed Business License Application (see bottom of page for form), along with payment of the fee as prescribed in the ‘’Business Licensing Bylaw’’ , can be submitted to the Town of Faro:

Business licenses are effective from the first day of January or the date of issue up until and including the 31st of December.
Inter-municipal Business Licenses may also be purchased from the Town of Faro Office, or at any Association of Yukon Communities municipality participating in the program. The Town of Faro is a signatory to the Association of Yukon Communities’ Inter-Municipal Business Licence Agreement. Any business holding a valid licence issued pursuant to that agreement, except a business for a hawker or a vendor shall be deemed to be licensed in the Town of Faro.
General Regulations
- The holder of a business licence must at all times be in compliance will all federal and territorial laws and regulations and Town bylaws pertaining to their operation.
- A business licence issued is non-transferable, and is valid only in the business owner’s name in which the licence was issued and the business address for which the licence was issued.
- Every person conducting business in the Town of Faro under an Inter-municipal Business Licence must abide by all rules set forth in the ‘’Business Licensing Bylaw’’.
- An active business license expires on December 31 in the year it was purchased.
