Welcome to old and new friends

This section provides you with important information and suggestions to make your trip up here and your stay in Faro a great adventure.

The Town of Faro is a four hour drive from Yukon's capital, Whitehorse, and five hours away from Watson Lake in Yukon's south eastern corner. Taking the Robert Campbell Highway from Carmacks or Watson Lake, you will be treated with spectacular views of valleys, rivers and lakes without even leaving your vehicle. The Robert Campbell Highway between Carmacks and Ross River is a year round accessible secondary road for all vehicles. It is maintained all year by the Highway Maintenance crews stationed at Drury Creek and Carmacks. When travelling on the Robert Campbell Highway east of Ross River in the winter season, check road conditions with local RCMP detachment. Fuel is available in Faro from a card-lock facility that accepts Visa and Mastercard.

On your way up you can camp out at several Yukon Government campgrounds. In Faro, the John Connolly Municipal Campground and RV Park offers you a full facility campground with secluded sites in the middle of the town. You can also stay at one of our excellent accommodations.
