In order to direct interested individuals to real estate information, we have added this page to highlight some of the affordable homes currently available for private sale. It is wise to check this page from time to time as private listings will be added when available.
A proposal to purchase one of the above properties can be submitted at the town office. Proposals must clearly outline the proposed development of the property (i.e. details of renovations, demolition, use), development timeline, closing date, investment amount, and incentive request if any. All proposals must be accompanied by a 10% administration fee. Properties are available on a first-come basis.
Proposals will be confidentially considered by Council at the next available meeting, pursuant to the Town’s property disposition policy and development goals. If Council accepts the proposal, a sale agreement will be negotiated and the administration fee will be applied as a down payment towards the purchase price. If the proposal is turned down, it can be revised and resubmitted, or the fee will be refunded.
Successful applicants will enter into a sales agreement with the town that may contain conditions including a requirement to develop the property by substantially renovating or demolishing the existing building(s) on it within a certain period of time.
