Del Van Gorder School is one of rural Yukon’s most successful schools. Located in the picturesque town of Faro, the school boasts a very large and well-maintained facility that serves our wonderful students with room to spare! We are also home to our local Yukon College campus and shared town/school library. We have 8 talented teachers (in addition to 2 educational assistants, a full time secretary, and a library clerk) that work together to deliver engaging programming to our students. We offer a range of programming options, and most students are able to take programs that include the arts, music, French, outdoor education, and wood working, in addition to academic and core courses. We have an ideal location at the centre of town, next to the skating rink, swimming pool, recreation center, town golf course, and surrounded by many year-long accessible trails – allowing us to offer versatile PE and recreation programs. In the high school, we offer a highly academic, university-prep stream, as well as individualized pathways that allow students to specialize in the arts and trades. Greater than 95% of our students graduate high school and go on to pursue post-secondary training. We are a friendly, growing, community-oriented school. Come give us a visit!
